Synopsis: the Boos climb Mount Messy to surprise Messygrinch by cleaning up his yard in honor of Earth Day. BUT...What happened next? When Messygrinch came home from work was he pleased? Let's find out what happens...

THE BATTLE OF BOO-VILLE: Part II

Two days before Earth Day...

High atop Mount Messy the Messygrinch stewed.
He ranted, and raved and his anger grew.
His eyes blinked and squirted. His ears spouted steam.
His voice boomed and bellowed, "This must be a dream!"
His arms flailed around, and his mouth wore a frown.
As he looked all around him, his feet stomped the ground.
His face flushed bright red.
(Every Boo down in Boo-ville could hear what he said!)

Down in Boo-ville the Boos waited for signs from above.
Earth Day was near, and their hearts brimmed with love.
"His golf carts were hung by the chimney with care
In hopes that Messygrinch would know that we care."

Just then they heard rumblings,
They heard a great roar.
No one could tell just what was in store.
They could hear Messygrinch shout: "My trash is not trash
They're treasures, you see.
All you have moved is important to me!"

"Where is my wall, my golf carts, my boat?
How can I replace them?
" "I must build a moat!"

"A moat I will build
I'll dredge deep and wide.
No Boo from Boo-ville
will get to my side!"

"My backhoe I'll use! I'll dig through the night.
And lanterns I'll string from the treetops for light."

All the Boos down in Boo-ville trembled in fear
What would they do now? Earth Day is near!
They only wanted to clean up their town.
Their hearts were downtrodden,
Their smiles turned to frowns.

Now, the Grand Petalumph and the Bimbo of Loo
were hatching a plan of what next to do.
All the Boos down in Boo-ville were thinking hard, too.
"Any suggestions, they asked? From any Boos...you, or you?"
"Let's ask Ms. Clean", said a 14-year old Boo. "
She'll help us save Earth Day. She'll know what to do."
"She lives deep in the forest, by a tree stump."
"I'll lead the way", said the Grand Petalumph.

It was late in the day when the Boos formed a line
And walked single file across paths laced with pine.
The forest was dark but owls hooted: "This way!"
And a hollow oak tree shone with light's welcome rays.

Ms. Clean said: "Welcome all, all you Boos!
I knew you would come, I  know what to do.
The kettle is on for tea if you'd like
And I'll tell you a way to help with your plight.
There's only one way to break a bad spell
And that's with another to make it all right."
Ms. Clean takes a boo-doo doll and a bucket of pins,
And all the Boos watched as she sticks a pin in
The heart of the doll that was Messygrinch.
All the Boos watched and a few of them flinched.

(Just at this very moment,  at the top of Mount Messy ...)

Now on his backhoe, Messygrinch sits atop.
Snorting and scowling, "All Boos must be stopped."
I'll build a moat, so deep and so wide
No Boos from Boo-ville will get to my side.

But just as the bucket hit the ground to dig,
The sky darkened black overhead of his rig.
Thunder did crack, and the sky opened wide.
Messygrinch roared as lightning struck his left side.
The bolt pierced his heart, and a warmth filled his soul.
From the top of his head to the tip of his toes.
He felt no pain, only goodness and light.
All things messy would change on this fateful night .

So if you live in Boo-ville, if you are a Boo
Come to the Earth Day parade held this Sunday noon.
It's Earth Day all over, and in Boo-ville, too.
The Grand Petalumph and the Bimbo of Loo,
And every one of the Boos,
will be marching in time
To the Boo-ville Band's tunes.
Ms. Clean may emerge from her forest retreat
And smile knowing smiles to all that she meets.

Messygrinch will wave from his new Earth Day float--
A flower-filled backhoe--on his old pontoon boat!
It's a boo-tiful site, this fine Earth Day parade
As Messygrinch smiles down at the new friends he's made.
