We bid a fond farewell to Eileen Ford. She joined us as our pianist for a short while, but her busy schedule required that she focus on other areas in her life. We look forward to the talents of potential pianists for our service. If you know of a teen age pianist, or piano student, who may be interested in auditioning for us, let us know. We'd love to hear them play, and maybe offer them a job. Our Administrative Council meets the second Wednesday of each month. This is an open meeting, everyone is welcome to attend.
Coffee Hour F.A.Q.'s (Frequently Asked Questions) 1) We try to keep coffee, tea bags, sugar, plates, cups, utensils and napkins for coffee hour; but its a good idea to check quantity ahead of time. If something is in short supply, plan on bringing it. And take a quick peek in the refrigerator to see if a generous person has left coffee creamer or juice for use at coffee hour, (it should be labeled with a date of first use). Check how much is left in case youll need to bring more. 2) The coffeemaker takes 45 60 minutes to complete its cycle and should be started shortly before the service begins. Depending on the time of year, make from 30 60 cups; some times we luck out and guess right, sometimes we dont. There are water level markings on the inside of the pot and a chart telling you how much coffee to use is on the filter basket. Measuring cups are to be kept with the coffeemaker. 3) The coffee cups, sugar bowl and creamer are in the drainer by the sink. Yes, we have other sugar bowls and creamers, but since you have to move the coffee cups, its easy to use the ones right at hand. 4) Paper products for coffee hour are kept in the low cupboard under the counter, the one on your left when you are facing the dining area. 5) Sugar is in the glass canister on the counter near the telephone. Tea bags are in the cupboard above the electric kettle, (by the stove). 6) Coffee and powdered creamer are on the shelves near the telephone. 7) Plan on bringing liquid creamer with you, and PLEASE do not leave any extra in the refrigerator unless you put the date youve opened it on the container. (Stickers & markers are in the drawer closest to the kitchen phone.) 8) Not everyone drinks coffee; hot water for tea is as easy as filling the electric kettle and plugging it in (don't plug it in until after the service, we don't want it to boil dry). A cold drink option is always appreciated by the kids. 9) Again, depending on the time of year on how many people you should expect to serve. Just remember we arent expecting a full meal, simply a snack while we chat with neighbors. 10) Please take home ALL leftovers. We appreciate your generous nature when you want to leave it for next week, but if too many take that approach, the refrigerator can quickly become overfilled. 11) Washed dishes that belong in the kitchen should be left to air dry. Please take home any dishes youve brought from home. Youd be surprised at how many accumulate in the kitchen. 12) Wipe down all surfaces in the kitchen. 13) Rinse out the coffeemaker and leave it open for drying. If you want the coffee grounds for your garden, please take them home with you. 14) Unlike at home, you do
not need to take out the trash.
J 15) If you decide
youd like to take a turn at Coffee Hour, thank you.
We always appreciate munchies!!!!!
