Keep Jim Rhinehart

To the editor:

Keep Jim Rhinehart as our County Legislator. He was picked to fill the vacancy of Jim Murphy

who is now our Supreme Court judge. Jim is very conscientious, is a listener and a doer. He

served on the village board for six years, two as trustee and four as an active successful mayor.

During his term as mayor he was responsible for the tightening of our zoning ordinance and

the addition of our architectural standards.

As the new county legislator Jim was put on the Environmental Protection committee which

oversees the Metropolitan Sewage Treatment plants. His experience at our own Treatment

Plant should serve him well. Jim also serves on the County Facilities Committee, which administers

County Parks and also the Zoo. The Health Committee is also one of Jim’s responsibilities. This

year, the coming flu vaccinations (remember last year’s shortage) and the Van Duyn Nursing Home

are the “hot button” issues. His record should speak for itself. I would find it difficult to envision

the pretty lader contender climbing through the treatment plant on an inspection tour.

Jim Rhinehart is a successful meat distribution businessman catering to the better restaurants in

the area. He is very visible and easy to get to talk with him and promoted a cooperative form

Of local government that would be a great asset at the County level.
