The Borodino Bullett would like to welcome a new
home to the area.
This house near Borodino Landing was built by Mike Daniels and crew,
for owner Don Babcock. This
eco-block home is very fuel efficient. With over one foot
thick concrete insulated walls, you could probably heat the hole
house in the winter with one of those small propane bottles you
buy from Wal-Mart for your cooking grille.

Next is the landscaping --- bushes and colorful
flowers. Jimmy Hendrix could practice the Stars Spangle Banner in
the titanic cellar without the neighborhood or the swimmers at the
landing knowing he was still alive. The cellar under the garage is
larger than the MGM sound studio in L.A.

In the beginning there was concrete and then
there were high-tech foam blocks and together there is strength,
efficiency, and innovation. (June
2002)

While riding my quiet, fuel efficient 4 cycle
turbo Yamaha jet ski on the lake last week, I couldn't help
but notice what looks like the front of a wooden boat being
integrated into the second floor porch. Cool. idea. Originality is
a plus in Borodino. Ten points.

Remember when it looked like this? (June
2002)

Back entrance. Sorry, but the front entrance
shots didn't come out.
To the right is a unique lime green bedroom.
The color looks great with all the nice furniture. To the left is
another special sleep room also with bath and view of the
lake.

This is some of the best and straightest framing
I have ever seen. This kind of framing is not easy. This is
where Don's office will be during the summer months.

Up in the cupola, Mike Daniels carries out the
integrated flooring for the top deck. If you can't walk the
conventional stairs you can ride Don's rocket propelled
elevator.

Here John Alicea meanders through the upper bedroom
with the pre-made integrated flooring designed by MED
construction.

The view from Don's office... From auto body and fender activity to running his own
multi-million dollar company to CEO of others, Don spends his time
living the American entrepreneurial dream. Hard, honest work
is good for the soul.

Brad's fence
is finished. The extra space is helpful for Don's boating
interests. Look at how straight the wall is. Pink Floyd's
"Wall" cannot compare. Good job. They say that Jesus was
a carpenter, but do you think he did masonry work as well for
extra cash?

And in the end the level wins. Mike, John and Mike. Every board,
vertical and horizontal, was leveled for truth. This house is so
straight that the executive producer of Queer Eye for the
Straight Guy called and told me that the Fab 5 didn't need to come
to Borodino because the Babcock home is too perfect and needs none
of their special help.
To conclude, Good Job building this cool home in
Borodino. And to the interior designer, good job decorating the
inside. Warm and friendly. I like it. It would be a
great place to film a B movie.
Welcome to the neighborhood. Where we all have a
lot in common.
