The Borodino Store

I was only there for a while,
my color changed threw the years......
Please remember me with a smile,
and don’t be afraid or shed any tears....

I was made of block and wood,
my roof kept my floor dry.......
For many years on this corner I stood,
and saw many people pass by.....

Once I was far from the road,
progress brought me near.......
I was so close not room for a toad,
now progress has brought me jeer.....

I know I’m gone from this place,
but don’t worry for me.......
No need for tears or lace,
for you can still see me....

In those pictures and in your mind,
I watched you as they tore me down.....
Many with looks of love and kind,
and many with disbelief and frown.....

I once was of wood,
and now I am gone...
A vacant lot now were I stood,
I will be a long time gone..

Only in life am I missed,
goods and coffee were my stay.....
Memories and stories now a list,
this will keep me alive day to day...

My presence will be missed,
the people will keep me alive.....
If only some I could have kissed,
your memories will let me thrive.....
