SKANEATELES

HEALTH AWARENESS PROGRAM AT THE SKANEATELES COMMUNITY CENTER PROGRAM

Saturday, April 26 9AM to 4PM at the Skaneateles Community Center.

Free Heart Screening provided by Crouse Hospital and Kinney Drug includes risk factor evaluation, blood pressure, blood sugar and cholesterol testing. Registration is required. Call 472-2462 (Crouse Call Center).

SAVES AMBULANCE OFFERS MONTHLY CPR CLASSES

Classes begin at 8AM the third Saturday of each month at the SAVES building on Fennell St., and last about 3-3 1/2 hours. The fee is $35, and participants receive American Red Cross certification. Call 685-5217 to register.

 

SKANEATELES FARMERS MARKET OPENS MAY 22

The market will open Thursday, May 22 and continue until Christmas if suitable indoor space is available after mid-October. The market hours will be 3:30 to 6:30 pm. Hours may be expanded for July and August, until 7:30 pm.


AMERICAN ASSN OF UNIVERSITY WOMEN PROGRAM MAY 3

 "WOMEN: THE KEY TO ENDING HUNGER"

The public is invited to join the Skaneateles Branch of AAUW (American Association of University Women) at its annual program, Issues at Breakfast, to be held Saturday, May 3, 9:30 to noon, at the Skaneateles Country Club in Skaneateles.

Enjoy breakfast followed by this year’s program, a presentation by Catherine Bertini, Professor of Public Administration at the Maxwell School of Citizenship, Syracuse University. She will speak on the topic Women: The Key to Ending Hunger.

Ms. Bertini is the former Executive Director of The World Food Program for the United Nations. She is currently a member of the Gates Foundation and teaches humanitarian action and nutrition policy at the Maxwell School.

She researches and instructs in the fields of girls’ education, humanitarian action, agricultural development, and management of international organizations.

To attend the breakfast and program, send payment of $15.00 made out to AAUW (Skaneateles Branch) to Jean Graham, 1212 Greenfield Lane, Skaneateles, 13152. Call her at 315-685-3500 for more information.
