Sue T's jet ski hate-letter:
' I have to admit that I have been annoyed when I see people
on jet skis zoom into shore at a high speed, totally
disregarding swimmers, boats, etc. I have a camp on the other
(wrong) side of the lake and have seen them go between the
shore and our raft while we were in the water. However, I
can't see totally banning them. We need to stress education on
proper behavior when using these things.
I know a family who have a couple of
pwc's. Their kids have been taught to use these vehicles
correctly. If they don't, they aren't allowed to use them for
the rest of the summer. If the rich Skaneateles and summer
people would spend more time teaching values to their children
instead of buying them a bunch of things, maybe we wouldn't
have problems like this. Also got to agree that the huge SUV's
and vans people drive (usually with only one person in them)
are doing more polluting than pwc's. '
