DEC ENGINEERS TEST WATER QUALITY IN BORODINO
"We've discovered some petroleum particles in the hand dug well," says Christopher F. Mannes of the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation. (on the corner of E. Lake & Rt. 174)

Because of Fesko's demolition last year, they have to monitor the watershed by test drilling on Fesko's Grocery site and at Harris' to determine the extent and direction of seepage from Fesko's Grocery.

In these photos the DEC Spill Response Team is drilling between Harris' property on the corner of Nunnery and E. Lake Rds., and the Grange building to test water quality.

They want to see if the particles have seeped from Fesko's down toward the lake.
