Meet Casey Brown, of Borodino, our
" Resident of the Week". Casey is 13 years old, and she
demonstrates motivation and discipline by keeping a small horse farm
with her friends.
Casey cleans stalls,
brushes and rides her horse every day, rising at 6 am on school days,
and 9 am on weekends. "Keeping a horse can be a lot of work,
but," she says," it's worth it."

What is the BEST part of
owning a horse? She says it's, "the companionship." What is
the downside, if any? "Getting up early!," she says.

And what would someone
need if they wanted to have a horse? "Five acres, a permit,
and GOOD NEIGHBORS."

We arrived in time for
everyone's 5:00 PM dinner of "sweet feed" a mixture of oats,
corn and molasses---followed by some hay. Casey says, although she's
never tried it herself, the horses seem to like it.

dinner, Audrey's horse "Smarty" is in the background.

lives on the corner of Tracy Drive.
Matt just moved
here a few weeks ago from Syracuse. He has a twin brother, and says he
really likes the Skaneateles school he now attends. Audrey, age 13,
also has a twin sister.

they like to eat Fruit Loops! (So does Joe.)
Benji, formerly of Elbridge, has been Casey's horse for about 2 years
now. That's "Puff" behind him.
