An overall shot of Borodino Landing in the foreground and Bacon Hill in the back. I tried some forced perspective in this area, using small trees and buildings in the back and gradually making things more to scale in the front. Tom Staton painted the back drop.

This railroad is under construction. Operationally, these areas are 8 miles apart. The model however, will share a two-story station between the two areas. As you can see, I use some cardboard mock-ups to see if I like a particular building.

Locomotive #12 is on the siding while the local passes on the main.
B&S caboose #48 is at the station.

The structures in this shot are scratch built.
The station shingles are individual pieces of cedar cigar wrapper.

Locomotive #12 pulling a freight out of Borodino Landing headed north.
Old friends meet again.

#71 and combine cross this wonderful scratch built bridge. The bridge was built by Don Clerke and the combine by Al Kalbfleisch, both members of the Hartford Workshop. I was fortunate to be able to acquire these models.
