2008 Meetings First meeting will be held April 19 at town hall at 9am. Joyce Green has applied for, and been granted, a $750 Green Spaces grant for the Spafford Veterans Memorial Park. The first scheduled garden clean up day will be May 3 at 9am.
2007 Meetings Meetings are held at Spafford town hall community room, and are open to the public. The last meeting was held Saturday, March 31, 2007 at town hall. After the meeting, members installed two new flags- the US flag and a POW-MIA flag. Memorial Day This year's Memorial Day observance is scheduled for Saturday, May 26, 10:00 -11:00 AM. The Observance Committee has released the latest guidelines to participate in the 2007 parade. 2006 Updates: May : The new memorial marker will be installed soon. Barnett Memorial has already completed the footer. Residents and committee members helped weed and trim the park. The Memorial Day program was held May 27, 2006. The parade began at Borodino Firehouse on Nunnery Rd. and ended at the Veterans Memorial Park. August : We added a pergola with two benches at the outer perimeter of the park, and fertilized the trees, shrubs and lawn. September : We purchased and refinished six oak benches for additional seating with the aid of a grant.
